JSE was formed back in the mid-1960s, back then we were known as ‘John Shaw Engineering’. John Shaw was the sole owner, and started off the business with a small workshop on Poulton industrial estate, which you can see below.
John Shaw Engineering quickly became a well-established business, with customers all over the world coming to the Fylde coast for Press tooling, bend tooling, jigs and fixtures. At this point, John Shaw decided it was time to expand the business, and moved to the site on which we are today, Copse Road – Fleetwood.
In the 1980s, David Lynagh and Simon Cox joined JSE as apprentices, and trained up to become the highly successful engineers that they are today, you can see them in the below picture back in the mid-1980s.
In the early 90s, it was decided it was time to expand the factory again, which also coincided with the construction of the Amounderness Way bypass that it now runs along the back of our factory today.
JSE went from strength to strength and over the next 30 years purchased of a large number of new machines, including the further expansion of the factory into an adjoining building that had previously been occupied by a joinery company, this building now houses JSE’s press shop.
In the mid-2000s, John Shaw decided to leave the company and enjoy his retirement, David and Simon became the directors and together grew the business dramatically, with customers now as far as away as Taiwan.
The Directors now drove the business in a new direction, with production lines now running for a number of high profile automotive customers, for example; Aston Martin, Lotus, Jaguar Land Rover, to name a few.
As a reflection of the new ventures, John Shaw Engineering officially changed its name in 2013 to JSE-UK LTD.
Fast forwarding a few years to 2018, JSE-UK LTD is a highly successful automotive engineering business, with a well-established press shop, laser cutting facilities and an engineering tool making workshop.
David and Simon are continuing to drive the business from strength to strength, now with the help of David’s daughter, Danielle – who joined the team back in 2013 as the general manager.
