Niche Vehicle Project

Niche Vehicle Project - A collaborative R&D project led by JSE-UK aiming to design and make exhaust systems weighing just half of the original through an intense six-month project.       The Challenge   Stainless steel has greater density when compared with light weight metals like aluminium or titanium, thus reducing thickness is the approach for light weight stainless steel parts. The challenge is how to manufacturethe parts, for example; how to bend the pipes without splits or wrinkles, how to control the heat input energy for welding without burning/destroying the parts, and using ultrasonic equipment to analyse tube wall thickness.   T

New Joint Venture

A collaboration with JSE-UK, Unipart and a UK Luxury car manufacture.   Engineers in the west Midlands and at JSE have begun a ground breaking project to cut the weight of car exhausts in half. Experts from a local high performance vehicle manufacturer, Unipart Eberspacher, JSE-UK and Coventry University plan to design and make exhaust systems weighing just 20 kilos through an intense six month project.

Increased coil handling capacity at JSE-UK

Increased coil handling capacity at JSE-UK The de-coiler / straightener will increase our coil handling capacity to two tonnes X 400mm wide.

Increased turning capacity.

Jse have purchased a high performance Hurco CNC lathe. The TMX10i lathe has a bar capacity of 76mm, 350Nm of spindle torque, rapid travers feeds of 30 M/min and a maximum turning diameter of 500mm. "The lathe has increased our capacity to produce turned items such as bend tooling", and will be fully commissioned by the end of September 2014.
